TS7 Gets a Title

Taylor Swift just announced via an Instagram post that her upcoming 7th album will be titled Lover, and will be released on August 23rd; I am very excited. 💗

She had previously said that the ”ME!” music video subtly revealed the titles of both this upcoming album and the next single to be released. I think most people, myself included, assumed that the next single would be called “Lover,” not the album (which I had guessed would be called Kaleidoscope). The “Lover”-guess originated from this scene at 1:57–I thought it seemed a bit too obvious to be the album title, but here we are. The next single is going to be called “You Need To Calm Down,” and I hope it is every bit as sassy as it sounds.

I think the album artwork is gorgeous; it’s colorful and fun, and I appreciate that it gives equal weight to the primary colors rather than just focusing on unbalanced pastel shades (I was afraid it would be seafoam green, light purple, and pink).

Also of note, the album has a whopping 18 songs, and is already available to pre-add or pre-order from all the big digital music stores and streaming companies.
