I NEED TO CALM DOWN

Taylor Swift’s latest single, “You Need To Calm Down,” dropped less than 30 minutes ago (I’m writing this at 00:28, 6/14/19) and my first impression after listening to it 7 times is that it absolutely SLAPS.

Like, Cal vs. Rose in Titanic-SLAP. Hermione vs. Draco in Prisoner of Azkaban-SLAP. Friday night, frat house-ballsack SLAPPIN’ (no homo bro*). “You Need To Calm Down” is ONE COMPLETE AND TOTAL SLAP.🖐🏼

Man. Anyway. YNTCD has a different sound than most of Taylor’s previous music, but I think she pulls it off gracefully. It also has a few GREAT lyrics that have probably been in Taylor’s back pocket for a while. I think it’s terrific, and I think we’re in for an incredible album, come August 23rd.

*It’s absolutely worth noting that YNTCD is an instant gay anthem and a loud “fuck you” to homophobic pricks everywhere. So, thanks sis.😏
