Rowling Faces Trans Cancellation For Suggesting That Science Matters
J.K. Rowling has written some stupid things lately (see: “Cursed Child”), but this isn’t one of them; her sentiments in this tweet near-perfectly represent my take in this instance, as well as on the broader issue of trans rights: do what you want as long as it isn’t harming others or infringing on someone else’s rights. However, I’m not convinced that some of the rights and privileges sought by the trans community aren’t stepping on the toes of other groups.
The fact that people are lambasting her for merely agreeing with someone who basically just said that biological sex is still a thing, is absurd. If you’re offended by scientific facts, re-fucking-evaluate; it’s not the rest of the world’s prerogative to avoid the truth (note that I said THE truth, not your truth) because you find it inconvenient.
