I am not a pacifist, but our presence in the Middle East is not a necessity, it’s war mongering. Fourteen thousand is a huge number, and the brave men and women we send to fight for us deserve the respect of only being called upon when it’s truly necessary. True patriots should see our continued military engagement in Middle Eastern affairs as a direct affront to our troops.

Specifically in the case of the Iranian attack on Saudi Arabian oil installations, that’s a situation that should be between Iran and Saudi Arabia; our dog doesn’t need to be in that fight. In any case, Saudi Arabia sure seems to fit the bill for “shithole country,” so it’s hard to imagine why Don is so apt to help defend them. Perhaps it’s because he and the Saudi crown prince share a distaste for the free press (read: the Saudi government chopped up a journalist last year).
