Apple Buys Dark Sky

This is certainly an exciting announcement.

I’ve long thought this deal would make a lot of sense for a few reasons: Dark Sky is an excellent utility that’s truly loved among its users, they are very respectful of user privacy, and Apple’s weather app is certainly due for a few new features.

I can’t wait to see what Apple has in mind for Dark Sky in the future. Hopefully it’ll be a full implementation into iOS like what they did with their acquisition of Workflow, rather than just a behind the scenes ownership change like what happened with their acquisition of Shazam.
